1 Corinthians 12:24b-26 -But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
I found myself recently discussing my disgust with one person’s handling of a situation. Ugh, ugly. As I read this today, I am convicted. If that person is suffering or having difficulty with something, why I am not in prayer on their behalf over it? I even find my joy over good news for them tainted by my frustration with them. Why am I not praying a prayer of thanksgiving for them? My frustration has turned to myself and the ugly I can awaken by thinking that my gifts are above their gifts. I am thankful for this lesson. Hoping prayer for the other, repeated, might change my outlook and my attitude towards them.
