When Hannah was tiny, she would beep her belly button when she got nervous or worried about something or even just as a comfort while she drank her milk. I’ve noticed lately that while we are reading (which is no easy thing for a 5-year-old to do) that her shirt gets pulled up all the time, and I’m getting exposed to her belly button. I hadn’t paid much attention to this thinking that it was just something that happened as she rolled around on the couch wiggling as she read, but today, I stopped and watched and every once in a while her little finger would find it’s way to her belly button. And when that would happen, I would get a mental picture of a tiny Hannah with hardly any hair, drinking from a little sippy cup, and beeping her belly beep. They grow up too fast.
